The Ambassadors

As the new year rolls in, show choir season rolls in too at full speed, right along with it!

Welcoming you into the jungle with them, the Ambassador’s theme this year is… drumroll, please… Rock n’ Roll The Lion King!

With wild solos from Chase Larsson as Simba, Kaden Schilling as Mufasa, Lydia Jennissen as Nala, Calvin Chadima as Scar, Trey Smith- Thomas as Rafiki, with speaking parts from Kyle Cook and Joanna Moody as Timon and Pumba.

Coming out with a bang at debut, it only continues to get better! With a set that quite literally lights up the stage to Lions and tigers and bears (Maybe not the tigers and bears but you get the gist)! OH MY!

Last weekend on January 12th at the Waukee Starstruck competition The Ambassadors made finals and walked out in the top three, taking home third place.

Saturday, January 26th we’re coming home to host Prairie’s Show Choir Competition, Premiere. Not only will The Ambassador’s and Focal Point be performing (not competing) there will be many other school’s show choirs coming to the high school!

So come stand out and support your prairie show choirs! (now if you continue to read the song list below you will understand my puns :))

Song List! (not in order)

History Has Its Eyes on You – Lin Manuel Miranda

Welcome to The Jungle – Guns N’ Roses

O sifuni mungu – African Children’s Choir (it takes a whole village)

I wanna be like you – Jungle Book

Mean man – W.A.S.P

Stand out – Tye Tribbett & G.A.

Coming Home – Sheppard

Circle – Barbra Streisand

Human Heart – Once On This Island

No More Mister Nice Guy – Alice Cooper (Dazed and Confused)

Focal Point

Not only are the Ambassadors hitting the ground running this season, but Focal Point is also fully prepared to soar to the top as the season begins!

With solos from Hadley Howell, Ayva Bohr, and Baxter Bohr (with backup singers Josie Dalton, Marlee Johnson, Emily Zaehringer, and Kaylee Coquyt).

Topping it off with big hair and big sound, Focal Point sings four songs sticking to the theme of being you and OWNING it! Sometimes it takes the people like us to shake things up and show em’ what we got!

At Waukee’s Starstruck Competition on January 12th Focal Point placed fourth in the prep division and most came back with one competition under their belt!

After debut kicked off the season, even more, can be expected. Including a costume change, some fancy new vocals, and yep, you guessed it… Even. More. Hairspray!

Focal Point will be performing at Prairie’s hosted competition as an exhibition alongside the Ambassadors and various other Iowa show choirs!

Don’t miss it on January 26th! It’s all Black and White from that point! Be there or be square (you won’t be ‘round).

Song List!

Black & White – Todrick Hall

Soar – Christina Aguilera

Nobody- The Bandstand

People Like Us – Kelly Clarkson
