Boys Track Hosts First Home Meet

Prairie boys’ Track and Field team hosted their first and only home meet located at John Wall stadium on Tuesday night and saved a time in the meet to recognize their seniors. Field events started at 4:30 and running at 5:00.

The windy and rainy conditions didn’t stop the Prairie varsity runners from placing second overall as a team out of seven other teams which included…Linn Mar, first, Marion, third, Xavier, fourth, CR Washington, fifth, North Scott, sixth, CR Jefferson, seventh, and Iowa City West, eighth.

Below is a list of top placements by individual athletes:

Ryan Kilpatrick placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.15.

Karter Griffin placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.18.

Jack Pendergast placed second in the 1600 with a time of 4:44.75.

Andrew Bickford placed fourth. in the 1600 with a time of 4:47.80.

Jack Pendergast placed second in the 3200 with a time of 9:42.34.

Ceondae Adams placed second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.71.

Kaden Schilling placed first in discuss with a throw of 1.51-01.

Gab Rummel placed third in high jump with a jump of 5-10.

Not only did the Prairie boys dominate in individual events, but they were able to rack up even more points in their relay teams.

Below is a list of top placed relay teams:

The 4×200 meter relay ran by Zach Swart, Nick Pearson, Josh Corrin, and Ryan Kilpatrick placed second with a time of 1:32.98. Carlo Dannefelser, Mckade Adams, and Andrew Bickford placed second in the 4×800 meter relay with a time of 8:46.47. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Ceondae Adams, Gabe Rummel, Geramie Hardeway, and Luka Elges ran a time of 1:00.52 and placed second.
